The common problems, and what to check first.
No events are arriving
Setup keeps saying Waiting for the first event. Work down this list. The first match is almost always the cause.

Is the app running with the SDK loaded?
The SDK sends a batch in the background after the app starts. Open a page in the app and wait a few seconds.

Is the key from this project?
The project key in the snippet has to be the one on Setup for the project you are looking at. Two projects have two keys.

Did the request leave the browser?
Open the browser’s network tab and look for requests to the Bugwalk endpoint. An ad blocker, or a Content-Security-Policy that does not allow the endpoint, will stop them.

Is the server SDK registered before your routes?
Middleware has to be registered before the routes it should watch, and the error handler after them.
People is empty
Events are arriving, but nobody is listed. Events are recorded without a name, so they show on Overview as sessions. They appear under People once identify() or forPerson() has been called with an id or an email.
A visit shows the wrong person
Clearing your own app session does not end the Bugwalk visit. Call resetSession() in the same handler where you drop the token or user, so the next person starts a new visit.
Run investigation is disabled
The button needs three things: the AI agent switched on for the workspace, an active plan on the project, and room left in the month’s investigations. Project, Usage shows what has been used. Connect a repository too, or the report can describe the timeline but cannot point at a line.
The report says low confidence
A finding that cites nothing Bugwalk actually saw drops the whole report to low confidence, and the report says why. The usual causes are a missing repository connection, or no BUGWALK_RELEASE in the build, so Bugwalk could not read the version that was live. Treat a low-confidence report as a lead, then set the release and investigate again.
No pull request was opened
A pull request opens only when the report qualifies and the month’s pull request allowance remains. If the allowance is used, a member can ask for one from the report once the next period starts, or after moving to a larger plan. Check that the GitHub App is still installed on the repository.
